"The first settlers of Somerset County, Maryland, came north out of Accomack and Northampton in Virginia. Many of these settlers were dissenters, trying to escape the mandatory tithing to the Church of England. Many of these immigrants were Quakers, Presbyterians, and others who desired to escape this parochialism. The proprietors of Maryland wanted settlers and were much more tolerant of different religious beliefs. They also gave land grants to immigrants. As a result, Somerset County was created in 1666, settlement was rapid out of Virginia colonists.
In Somerset County, Maryland, 50-acre grants for settling in Maryland were given to Daniel Moore on May 14, 1662, Samuel Moore on February 6, 1663, Daniel Moore on April 28, 1663 and Martin Moore on June 5, 1666. A John Moore immigrated to Somerset County in 1672 with wife and child. This immigrant could be John Moore, Sr., a ferryman, or John Moore, Sr., whose descendants are the subject of this book. It may be that John Moore, Sr. was the son of Thomas Moore of Northampton County, Virginia; but this fact has not been proven...."

Moore-18625 and Moore-15333 appear to represent the same person because: Moore-18625 has birth year of 1665. Moore-15333 has 1655, but is unsourced. Birth date 1665 might be better. Otherwise, it can go to Unmerged Match purgatory.
