Biography

John Farmer Moore was born the 16th of October, 1849 in Shelby County, Alabama. John was the son of George Moore and Amelia Seale.

John, age 1, appears in the 1850 Federal census in Shelby County, Alabama in the household of his parents George and Permelia Moore.[1]

John, age 12, appears in the 1860 Federal census in Shelby County, Alabama in the household of his parents George and Pamelia Moore.[2]

John married Mary Elizabeth Stone, daughter of Thomas Stone and Martha Johnson, on the 30th November, 1871 in Shelby County, Alabama.[3]

John appears in the 1880 Federal census in Shelby County, Alabama as head of household. John's household appears as follows: John age 28; Elizabeth age 25; Angeline age 8; Levi age 7; Sarah age 4; and Richard F. age 1 month.[4]

John appears in the 1900 Federal census in Shelby County, Alabama as head of household. John's household appears as follows: John age 51; Mary E. age 49, listed as the mother of 9 children with 8 children living; Sallie S. age 21; George F. age 19; Walter D. age 17; Arthur age 14; Thomas age 10; and Adolfus age 6.[5]

John appears in the 1910 Federal census in Shelby County, Alabama as head of household. John's household appears as follows: John age 59; Mary E. age 57; Arthur age 22; Thomas age 19; Adolfus age 17; and Sallie age 30.[6]

John appears in the 1920 Federal census in Shelby County, Alabama as head of household. John's household appears as follows: John age 71; Mary E. age 69 and Sallie age 40.[7]

John died on the 18th of September, 1929 in Shelby County, Alabama. John is buried in the Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery, Shelby County, Alabama.[8]
