Last winter, I did an in-depth study of the Maryland militia and the Maryland State Troops resulting in a complete revamping (in cooperation with Betty Skelton) of the Wikitree categorization for the militia. This year, I'm doing a similar study of the Maryland Navy and will provide it to Wikitree by spring.

Thanks for checking in, Jim. the Space page you did sounds great. I found it. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Maryland_Militia_in_the_Revolutionary_War

Now Jim if you do something you have to post it. I cannot find it listed on the 1776 project.

Do you mind if I post it for you on Military and war??? Just so people can read it. You sure don't want it to be duplicated.

I marked you Active.

Mary

I don't mind at all if you post it. However, Betty Skelton has been my partner in this work, and has performed the tasks of integrating my research with WikiTree. I would appreciate it if you were to coordinate with her on this. Thanks.

And thanks for the compliment.

I am the profile manager for John Abbott [ https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Abbott-2612 ], militia member at Lexington on April 19, 1775, and a veteran of further service. I carefully review all changes to ensure that they are properly integrated into the profile; the most recent one occurred about two weeks ago. I am also attempting to gather information on Maryland Militia for the categorization team, but struggling with that task.

Thanks for replying to the Check in, Jim. I marked you as very active. Have a good 6 months. Mary

I offered to make a table of Maryland regiments for the use of the group, but mentioned that I would have to delay that work until some travel was completed. I plan to do that work by the end of May.

Yes, Jim. The Maryland regiments are waiting for your return. Thank you for volunteering to do this! We appreciate the contributions you have made to 1776 Project.

Best Regards, Betty

Hello Jim,

Are you currently a member of the 1776 Project Categorization Team?

If you have information you would like to share, please respond here or send a private message.

Thank you for your cooperation and contributions to the 1776 Project!

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

There is some confusion because I have been changing my email address. I am a member of the Google group. I have actively managed Abbott-2612 (which is now due for some clean-up due to some patchwork updates). I am willing to join the Categorization project team.

Thanks Jim, I'll add you to the Categorization Team.

My Abbott line: Northern Ireland -> Culpeper, VA, -> Kentucky -> Indiana and I still regularly see trees that have siblings/cousins from Mass... conflation, thou art a heartless plague...

best regards,

SJ

LOL - I meant to say Abbott-4752, which is the one of interest for the 1776 Project. I manage both of the profiles.

I have a line in Northern Ireland. It is difficult to trace there. Best of luck.

Hi Jim,

Could you check your pending merges and approve the one for a duplicate Ruth Samson? Thanks!

Done!

This is the first I have heard of the pending merge. I’m not sure why I didn’t know before. It’s always possible, of course, that I deleted a notice before reading it.

No problem at all, I was just going thru my 'pending' list and sending out harrassment notices ;)

Hello, Jim,

It has been a few weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Black Sheep Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

If you could please give us a general idea of how you have been contributing to the tasks and goals of the Military and War Project or any of its sub-projects recently, it would be very helpful to the leaders.

Hello again,

Would you like to be seen on WikiTree as one of the "go-to" people for your Mayflower ancestor, Thomas Rogers? The Mayflower Project would like to involve you in a new effort to update Mayflower profiles and establish Mayflower passenger "Teams", beginning with the Rogers family.

Goal: Every project profile will have an accurate, written biography, with inline citations, using primary sources and reliable secondary sources.

I hope that you will be eager to contribute towards this goal starting with the family of your ancestor, Thomas Rogers. Please send me a private message and let me know your thoughts? Once I know you are interested in helping, I will send you an invitation to join the Mayflower Google group. When you accept the invitation, we will be on our way.

I see your profile doesn’t include a mayflower G2G Tag. See “Followed Tags” above. You should have the tag - mayflower -so you can follow pertinent Mayflower activities on G2G. When you add the tag, please include the names of passengers in whom you are interested. Thank you

Anne B. Leader Mayflower Project.
