Roberta was born 29 Nov 1870 in Mahaska Count, Iowa.

In 1880 she was living in Jefferson, Mahaska, Iowa.^[1] The household included Hamilton Moore age 42, wife Ann Moore age 44, son Hamden Moore age 14, son John Moore age 12, daughter Roberta Moore age 9, daughter Elizabeth Moore age 7, daughter Margaret Moore age 6, daughter Hannah Moore age 3, and infant daughter age 3 months. Hamilton and Ann were born in Ireland; the children were born in Iowa. Hamilton was a farmer. Hamden and John were farm laborers.
