Biography

Charles was born in 11 Jan 1763 in Hanover County, Virginia and died 19 Sep 1839 in Illinois. His Pension #S*W24005 if from the Revolutionary War where he served 1) Capt James Craig (3 months), Capt Benjamin Smith (3 months), Glasby and 2} Maj Mountflorence and Col Brandon. He was residing in Salisbury district, Rowan County, North Carolina when he enlisted. He was in the battle of King's Mountain. He married Martha Cunningham 2 Apr 1793. [1]

Charles Moore build a cotton gin on the east side of Buffalo Hart Grove in 1823/24 where it remained for several years when he moved it farther north. He moved to McLean County, finally settling in Woodford County. While he was going to draw a pension, the stage upset and caused his death. Possible burial location of Ewington, Effingham county
