Merle Jose "Doc" Moore, M. D., was born on May 30, 1908 to Edward Moore and Mary Cook.
He grew up and received his early education in McClusky, North Dakota. Merle graduated from the University of Chicago School of Medicine and practiced medicine in New Rockford, North Dakota and Naperville, Illinois before moving to Idaho. He set up a private medical practice there in Salmon which he had until 1975. He then moved to Idaho Falls where he was employed as a physician by EG&G Idaho until his retirement.
Merle married Dorothy Hess on Jan. 30, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois and had two children; Richard Shawn and Cynthia. They later divorced.
Merle then married Anne Grivett on May 28, 1957 in Naperville, Illinois. They were also divorced.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
Merle died on Jul. 9, 1990 at the age of 82 years of a heart condition while visiting his daughter at her home in Hilo, Hawaii.[1]
