Hugh married Mary "Polly" Tucker about 1816 and they had four children.
In the 1830 census, his widow Polly was living with four children in Warren, Mississippi.[2]
He died in 1829, most likely in Mississippi, and a memorial was placed in Goodloe Cemetery, Cleburne County, Arkansas, United States.[3]
