Biography

Edwin/Edward was born in 1884. He is the son of Giles Moore and Frances Williams. His middle initial was G., and his middle name was perhaps Giles. Called Edwin in 1900 and 1910 Census. But perhaps changed his name to Edward by 1920 (but called Edwin G. Moore in 1925 Kansas State Census). Second marriage 21 April 1909, Erie, Kansas, to Caroline F. (Callie) Silkey, but divorced before 1910 Census (https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/tree/6421673/person/24430236084/media/ea56468c-b3aa-48d1-90ee-bfb491aace2b). https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/13985693/caroline-frances-turner

I thought he may have died between 1910 and 1915 (daughter Treva living with her grandmother in the 1915 Census), so I was skeptical that he was Edward G. Moore of Parsons. However, The Parsons Daily Sun newspaper of March 14, 1925 (page 6) says that there was an injunction against E.G. Moore interferring in the affairs of his daughter Treva Moore. J. Allen Watson was also mentioned, so this is clearly our Treva Moore. Therefore, Edwin/Edward's middle initial was G. rather than M.

The Parsons Sun a week earlier (07 March 1925, page 1) says Treva was mistreated by her father: https://www.newspapers.com/image/692409481/?terms="treva%20moore"&match=1

Edward/Edwin apparently moved to Missouri between 1910 and when he married his third wife Emma M. Hort (about 1916-1917). But they were back in Labette County Kansas during the 1920 Census. He is called Edwin G. Moore in the 1925 Kansas State Census.

He is almost certainly Edward G. Moore (b. ca. 1885, Illinois) parents born in Illinois (that all matches), appearing in the 1930 Census of Walton, Labette County, Kansas: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/33075479:6224. Had a daughter Marjory Rosalie Moore born in 1918, Missouri (listed as Marjory R. Moore in 1920 Census).

The 1920 Census show Edward G. Moore born 1884 Illinois (and wife Emma) with daughter Marjory R. Moore (age 2): https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/47374701:6061

Edward and Emma were in Labette County, Kansas, in 1935, but living in Los Angeles California in the 1940 Census: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/75465535:2442

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Edward by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Edward:
