Tusten Moore was a New Yorker.

Tusten Moore was born on 29 Jan 1787 in Middletown, Orange, New York, the son of Wilmot Moore and Azubah Knapp.[1]

Tusten married Amelia Murray in 1822,[2][1]

In 1840, Tusten Moore lived in Minisink, Orange, New York, USA. The people enumerated in the household were: 1 male 40-50; 1 male 15-20; 1 male 10-15; 1 female 30-40; 1 female 20-30; and 1 female 10-15.[3]

In 1850, Tusten (53), lived in Minisink, Orange County, New York, with his wife Amelia M. (48), their (inferred) son William E. Moore (22), Thomas Perrigo, a laborer b. New Jersey (27), Rebecca Mecker, b. New Jersey (30), Leah Mecker, b. New York (7), and David Decker, b. New York (4); Tusten worked as a farmer.[4].

In 1855, Tusten (58) (indexed as "Justen") and his wife Amelia (54) and New Jersian servant Sarah Reiner (13)[5].

In 1860, Tusten (63), lived in Minisink, with his wife Amelia (58) and New Yorker Sarah Tuthill, 23.[6]

Tusten died on 26 April 1864 at Unionville, Orange, New York.[1]

Tusten Moore probably died in 1864. This is the year on the New York Wills and Probate[7] and in DAR records. Tusten Moore died intestate (without a Will). On 5 June 1864, administration of Tusten's estate was granted to Amelia Moore in the town of Barton, Tioga, New York.[7]) It is only one page and does not give any information other than the name of his wife Amelia Moore. In the settlement of his estate in 1866, son William E. Moore, along with his mother Amelia, siblings Charles V. Moore and Mary Ann Smith, and 2 grandchildren, Fred Moore and William M. Moore, all received payments from the estate.[7] (Son Hiram had died in 1864 leaving his widow, Frances and children Fred and William M. Moore.
