She was a retired secretary and had worked for the Ordinance during World War II, the Carnation Company, Parker Tobacco and Lowe’s Grocery in Murphysville. She was a member of Shannon United Methodist Church and more recently attended May’s Lick Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lowe was born in Maysville on Dec. 6, 1925, daughter of the late George W. Morgan Sr. and Merena Mae Hoops.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Glenn A. Lowe Sr. She married Glenn on Oct. 28, 1947. Also surviving are four children, Sharon (Larry) Myers of Lexington, Glenn A. (Sharon) Lowe Jr., David M. Lowe and Teresa (Donald) Jefferson, all of Murphysville; 11 grandchildren, Travis Myers, Sarah, Trent, Trevor and Scott Lowe, Andrew Jefferson, Katelyn Humphries, Donna and Wendy Merrill, Adam Keys and Lisa Goldberg; eight great-grandchildren, Tate Myers, Tuff Morgan, Brittany, Tara, Travis and Chance Merrill, Morgan L. Magee and Sam Goldberg; two sisters, Betty (John C.) Everett of Maysville, and Pat Watson of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Joe (Pat) Morgan of King of Prussia, Penn.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Keys and Merena Lowe; two brothers, George W. Morgan Jr. and Doug Morgan; and a sister, Evelyn Carpenter.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Palmer Funeral Home in May’s Lick with Rev. David C. Cheek officiating.

Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Larry Kevin Phillips, Ricky Miller, Larry Dillon and Glenn Riggs.
