William Grafton Morgan was born on September 13, 1891 in Hoodsville, Marion County, West Virginia, United States, son of John William Morgan (1855–1909) and Margaret Elizabeth Conaway (1858–1938).[1][2][3]

In 1910, Willie G Morgan is enumerated in the household of Margaret Morgan in Paw Paw District, Marion, West Virginia, United States.[5]

William married Ella Blye Thomas (born on July 17, 1896 in West Virginia, USA) in 1915.[6] They had the following children:
