Sarah was born in 1818.[1]
She married Edward Edmonds in 1837.[2]
Edward and Sarah had their first child, son "Hope", in Jan 1838. They had decided to emigrate to Australia, but their son Hope died before leaving. Immigration records state: Hope, aged three months and a half, died two days before embarkation but after names had been given in. Edward & Sarah embarked on 13 May 1838 so therefore date of Hope's death has been recorded as 11 May 1838.
Sarah and her husband Edward Edmonds, together with Edwards' parents, Isaac Edmonds and Dinah (Bowlin) Edmonds, and his younger brother Stephen Edward Edmonds, all residents of Beckley, Sussex, England left Gravesend, England on 13th May 1838 aboard the ship "Palmyra" and arrived in Sydney Australia on 26th September 1838 as non-assisted Immigrants, meaning they paid their own way to Australia.
