Biography

He was born about 1690 [1] [2] (in Wales or New Jersey ?).

Richard Morgan married about 1710 to a Sarah of unknown maiden surname.

He was a captain in the French & Indian War (1754-1763). [2]

He died in November 1763 in Shepherdstown, Berkeley County, Virginia [2] [1] (which became part of West Virginia, USA in 1863).

On 06 Dec 1763 his Will was in the probate court of Frederick County, Virginia. [3]

His son, William Morgan, was a brave officer of the Revolution who raised a company in the neighborhood of Shepherdstown early in the year 1777. At the close of the war he had been promoted to a colonelcy.
