Phillip entered the family press cutting business Romeike and Curtice and went on to be Managing Director until he retired.
When he married Molly Lees they lived in Mill Hill for several years and then moved to Finchley and retired to Amersham in Bucks and finally to Felpham, Bognor in Sussex. Two of their sons entered the family business.
In the First World War as a very young man, he was a drummer boy and in The Second World War he was called up and became a driver going to France on D Day +3.
