Born in Granite City, Illinois. As a child, my family lived in Aurora, Minnesota for a short time and we also lived in Welborn, Florida for a short time. Moved to Mason City, Illinois in 1971, graduated fron Mason City High School in 1978, worked at various jobs after high school, then went to Lincolnland Community College in Springfield, Illinois starting in 1981. Moved to Ft. White, Florida in May, 1983, then to Lake City, Florida a few months later. My job at the time, restaurant manager, moved me to St. Augustine, Florida late in 1985, I lived there until 2004 when I moved to Louisville, Kentucky, lived there for nearly 3 years, then moved to Corydon, Indiana for 5 years, until 2012, when I moved back to St. Augustine for awhile, I am currently living in Jacksonville, Florida with my wife, Helen :)
I decided in 2009 that I wanted to research my family tree. Before this, the only information I had about my Morgan side was from my Great Uncle Harold who had given me, what he said, was our family history when I interviewed him back when I was in the 8th grade. It turns out that he was mostly wrong, especially about the Morgan part, we are not direct descendants of Capt. Henry Morgan nor are we direct descendants of Justin Morgan, of Morgan Horse fame. During my time as a "genealogist", I have found and met (on line) some distant cousins I never knew I had and reconnected with some cousins I had not seen in 30 plus years and 3 great aunts aunts who I didn't know were still alive!!
Let us just say that I have become addicted to the search! I am currently trying to fill in missing parts of my paternal and maternal family trees, while also digging up information about Helen's, tree.
If you look at my tree and have any questions, or possible connections or improvements to it, please contact me. I have a lot of info about all the branches of my tree that I am, slowly, adding and will be happy to share.
Thanks for reading my ramblings and happy hunting! Jim
