Susan was born in 1833. She is the daughter of George Morgan and Ann Collins. [1]

A Colonial Brick makers Family. by Paul Goard. John Roach changed his name by deed poll from John De Rosa.John was an embalmer by trade and thought to be a sergeant in the Indian Army (not proven). John Roach was a verger at St Paul,s Cobbitty from 1850-1890 and his son Henry took over in 1890-1936.Henry was succeeded by his son John Harrington Roach from 1936-1956 and John H Roach,s wife,Charlotte continued from 1956-1966 The Roach family gave unbroken service to St Paul,s as verger,s for 116 years.


16.12.1853. Susan Morgan married John Roach at St Paul,s Cobbitty. Witness es were Susan,sister & brother in law Mary ann & William Roberts, John made his mark, other 3 signed their names.

1812-1855.Susan gave birth to their son Henry.

30.11.1857.Susan gave birth to their son John who died in 1858.

Museums of History NSW, Colonial Secretary Letters received [4/3377] letter no 58/985… To the chief Constable of Camden, Narellan, Picton and to the keeper of the Gaol at Parramatta and to all other peace officers. Whereas Susan Roach has this day charged before John Oxley Esq. on the oath of John Roach of Cobbitty, labourer, and others, for that, she is a dangerous lunatic having attempted to destroy her child and to commit suicide.Therefore to command the said Constable of Camden, to take the said Susan Roach to the Gaol at Parramatta… …. 6-3-1858 at Camden….. 12-3-1858 - We the undersigned being legally qualified medical practitioners do hereby certify that we have examined Susan Roach at present confined in Her Majesty’s Gaol at Parramatta, and that we find her to be insane and a fit and proper object for reception into Lunatic Asylum. 13-3-1858– Sir I have the honour to enclose herewith a copy of the warrant and the medical certificate in the case of the lunatic mentioned in the margin ( Susan Roach) at present confined in this gaol, Parramatta…

30.10.1862.Susan married Thomas Wright at Forbes ,they had 8 children. Register BDM ON LINE 2384/1862 Wright Thomas Married Morgan Susan. Forbes

14.4.1904. Mrs T Wright of Cudgebegong continues in a very low state of health.

25.8.1910. Gulgong. Mrs Susan Wright of Cudgebegong has died age 76.[2]
