William Roscoe Morgan was born January 18, 1910 to Percy Morgan[1] and Mae Osgood.[citation needed] He and his family lived on the Morgan family farm on Macon Highway in Macon Township, farming there.[2][3][4]

The youngest child and only boy, Bill was a precocious child, funny, and the darling of the family[5] and, for his last three years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, was Phi Kappa Psi.[6][7][8] Just after his graduation from the University of Michigan, in 1933, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Pauline Taylor , marrying in her hometown of Tipton, Michigan.[9] Bill was 23 and working as a road maintenance engineer and Pauline was 24 and working as a teacher.

Bill and Pauline had one daughter, born in 1937, and moved to Plymouth, Michigan, southwest of Detroit, residing at 679 Ann Street,[10] At the time the 1940 census was conducted, Bill Morgan worked as service man at a canteen company and Pauline worked as a dressmaker, working from home. When he registered for the World War II draft at the age of 30, registering in Plymouth, Michigan on October 16, 1940,[11] he stated that he worked for Solvay Process Company on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. He was described at 5'11" tall and 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

By 1950, Bill owned and operated a gas station in Plymouth and Pauline worked at the local high school as a science teacher.[12] That year, his widowed mother-in-law lived in the household on Ann Street. By 1956, Bill worked as a sales engineer at Pillsbury Chemical Company.[13]

Bill and Pauline remained in Plymouth until Bill's death at the age of 51.[14] He took his own life when he was 58.[15]Bill is buried in the Morgan family plot at Macon Cemetery on Macon-Mills Road in Macon, Michigan.[16]
