Biography

Sarah Jane Morley was born in 1864 in Flixborough, Lincolnshire, England to John Morley and Eliza (Barr) Morley. Her birth was registered in Glanford Brigg, Lincolnshire in the third quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Barr.[1]

Sarah Jane Morley, daughter of John & Eliza, was christened on 7 Aug 1864 in Flixborough.[2][3]

In 1871 Sarah Jane Morley (age 7, Scholar) lived in Crosby, Lincolnshire with her father John (41, Rabbit Warrener), mother Eliza (41), and seven siblings: John (15, Labourer), Annie (13), James (11, Scholar), Betsey (10, Scholar), Kate (8, Scholar), Emily (4, Scholar), and Eliza (2).[4]

Sarah Jane Morley married Samuel Rimmington in 1886. The marriage was registered in Glanford Brigg in the last quarter of the year.[5]

Sarah and Samuel had nine children:

In 1891 Sarah J Rimmington (age 26) lived in Crosby with her husband Samuel (26, Iron Works Labourer) and three children: Arther (4), John W (2), and Eliza A (0).[6]

In 1901 Sarah Jane Rimmington (age 37) lived in Crosby with her husband Samuel (38, Ironstone Miner) and eight children: Arthur (14), John W (12), Elvia[Eliza] (10), Elizabeth (7), Lily (4), Rose (2), Lucy (2), and Edith (0).[7]

In 1911 Scara Jane Rimmington (age 44) lived in Crosby with her husband Samuel (47, Iron Stone Miner) and five children: John William (22, Plate Layer), Eliza Amalia (20), Lizzie (16), Lucy (12, School), and Edith (10, School).[8]

Unable to locate Sarah on the 1921 census. Her family lived in Scunthorpe & Frodingham, Lincolnshire - husband Samuel (58) and four children: John William (34), Eliza Amelia (30), Lizzie (27), and Lucy (22), as well as daughter-in-law Mabel Edith (24) and grandson Leslie (1).[9]

Sarah's husband passed away in 1932.

In 1939 Sarah J Rimmington (born in 1864) lived at 1 Detuyll Street in Scunthorpe with two daughters: Lizzie (1894) and Lucy (1900[1899]).[10]

Sarah J Rimmington passed away in 1955, aged 91 years. Her death was registered in Scunthorpe in the third quarter of the year.[11]
