Catherine Morrison was born at Lenox, Massachusetts on January 13, 1847, daughter of Richard Morrison and Mary Cowhig.
Her father Richard died on July 21, 1865 at Lenox and on December 3, 1867, her mother, widow Mary Morrison petitioned the court at Lenox, Massachusetts for guardianship of her minor children, and older children son James aged 24, and daughter Catherine, aged 21, are also noted in the estate papers. [1]
She married James Toole on June 8, 1870. James was born in Ireland about June, 1842, son of Thomas and Julia (Mahan) Toole.
Her mother Mary died on October 2, 1890 at Lenox. Her will written on June 10, 1890 and proved on November 5, 1890 names, among her children, daughter Catherine Toole, wife of James Toole of Lee. [2]
They owned a farm in Lee, Massachusetts which she continued to operate on her own after her husband's death.
Her husband James died at Lee, Massachusetts on February 19, 1904.
She died on January 4, 1917 at Lee.
Catherine wrote her will on June 11, 1912. In it she names: [3]
daughter Catherine Toole, $600.00 plus all my household furnishings, which she may divide if she chooses
daughter Julia E. Clifford, $400.00
the remainder of the estate, real and personal to be shared by my 5 children; Thomas A. Toole, Julia E. Clifford, Catherine Toole, Richard J. Toole and John E. Toole. [3]
