Biography

Peter Morrison was born 1772 in Virginia. The name of his first wife and date of marriage are not yet known, but they had at least one child (probably several more not yet identified) in Georgia in 1799 -- Frances P. Morrison.

The family eventually moved from Georgia to Lauderdale County, Alabama where Peter's daughter, Frances, married Eli Faires in 1819, later moving to Haywood County, Tennessee where the couple reared their family and died.

Peter Morrison acquired 160 acres in Lauderdale County in 1833 and lived out his life there.

Peter's first wife apparently died prior to 1844, as he remarried on April 7, 1844 in Lauderdale County to Annie Terry, a widow. Peter and Annie are found in the 1850 Lauderdale County census along with Annie's two children from her first marriage -- daughter Eliza, age 16 and born in Tennessee, and her deaf son Daniel, age 14, born in Alabama.

Peter died in 1854. His estate entered the probate process and is registered in the index of Book B (1853-1857), Pages 173 and 518.

Peter Morrison was buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Lauderdale County.[1]
