OBITUARY

Mr. William Morrison

There passed away at his residence, Tumbulgum, early on Saturday morning, an old and highly respected resident of the Tweed District in the person of Mr. William Morrison, at the age of 63 years. The late Mr. Morrison, who was over 40 years resident in the Tweed District had, during that time, taken a keen, interest in public and semi-public affairs.

Deceased held the title of P.D.G.M. in the Manchester Unity Lodge. He was a very old and valued member of the Tweed River Agricultural Society's annual show.

Deceased leaves a widow and eight children, their names being Mrs. H. C. Piecey, of Pinnacle (Qld.); Mary, Sydney; Mina, Sydney; James Morrison, Sydney; Jack, Sydney.; Leith, Tumbulgum; Wilma, Sydney; Norman, Tumbulgum.

The funeral, which took place from the Presbyterian Church, Murwillumbah, yesterday afternoon, was very largely attended, despite the inclemency of the weather, and upwards of 45 members of branch lodges followed the sad cortege to pay their last respects to a former fellow member.

The Rev. P. W. Pearson, B.A., conducted services at the church and graveside, and the lodge burial service was read by Wor. Bro. W. H. Andrews, P.D.G.M. Many floral tributes were placed on the grave, including one from the Agricultural Society, which was represented by the secretary (Mr. T. M. Kennedy) in the absence of the President. Pall-bearers were Messrs. F. Johnson, W. H. Andrews, C. Johnson, W. .Turner, J. Shabridge, and Alf Dickinson.[1]
