Edward was born in 1791, the son of Edward Morrison and Sarah Lucas. His parents left New Jersey when Edward was 12 years old, (about 1803) and settled in what was then Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. In 1813 this part of Northumberland became Columbia County. In 1850, Montour County was split off from Columbia County.
The 1810 Septennial Census lists three Morrisons, Edward Sr., Edward Jr., and John, whose occupation was "Cooper." [1] Edward married Elizabeth Sechler in
