Biography

Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Morrison was born on in to James Henry Morrison and Kathryn (Wisdom) Morrison.

Lizzie (age 21) married G W Hendricks on 23 July 1902 in Carter, Oklahoma, United States.^[1]The makes Lizzie about 15 years of age, so it may be worth while to recheck the facts. This marriage fact as well as her birth fact. Seen from her point of view, this would have been a 15-year-old with a fairly recently acquired step-mother. If this marriage record rightfully reflects Lizzie's marriage, she lied about her age., saying 21 instead of 15 1/2. Interestingly, the officiant was W. N. Hendricks.

In the 1900 census Mary (age 13) was the daughter of [[morrison-20038|Jas H C Morrisson] in Cornish, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.^[2]

Note that:

• Mary's middle initial is "L" on this census - perhaps the enumerator heard " 'Lizbeth' or some other derivative.
• Mary's "mother" has been married to her father for seven years. There are two kids (pre-teen area) - aged 12 and 13, and two much smaller children, infant and two years of age, Consistent with the notion that Emma is James' second wife.
  • An ancestry tree shows a woman named Kathryn Wisdom as Mary's mother.
• Of interest to Emma -- she reports that she has had two children, of whom one is living, but there are two on the page. Perhaps there was a third child between marriage seven years ago and the two-year-old.

Mary died (age 93) in October 1980 residing in Cleveland, Oklahoma.^[3]
