Biography
Harriet "Katie" Morrow was born about 1792, probably in South Carolina. She married Matthew Russel about 1810, probably in South Carolina. Shortly after their marriage, Katie and Matthew moved to Georgia and then on to northeast Alabama. They had the following eleven children: Thomas Jenkins, b. December 27, 1811; Mary, b. January 10, 1814; James Albert, b. April 20, 1816; Sarah A., b. November 17, 1818; John, b. July 30, 1819; Martha, b. September 5, 1821; Samuel, b. June 23, 1823; Andrew, b. April 20, 1825; Tabitha, b. February 17, 1827; Elizabeth Jane, b. November 20, 1828 and Linney Margaret, b. January 9, 1831. According to family tradition, after the death of Matthew in 1832, Katie remarried to a man whose surname was Jones and her life afterwards remains unknown.[1]
