Biography

Mary was born in 1855. She is the daughter of Samuel Morse and Harriet Lee. The 1870 US Census places Mary in her parents home in Massachusetts along with her siblings, Francis and Henry.^[1]

Mary married John Wheelock Elliot on May 8, 1883, in Boston, Massachusetts. ^[2] In 1900, the US Census shows the couple with one son, also named John, living in Needham, Norfolk, Massachusetts.^[3]

The 1910 Census finds the family in Boston, Massachusetts.^[4] In 1920 the family is still living in Boston.^[5]

Mary passed away in May of 1926 from complication from appendicitis. She preceded her husband in death.^[6]

Research Notes

The record of her death in Massachusetts was found in New Hampshire records. The record correctly listed her birth date, parents and husband. The record appears to be correct, just miss filed in neighboring state records.
