Jane de Morteyn was born in about 1303 in Bedfordshire, England, the daughter of Sir John de Morteyn and his wife Joan née d'Ekeney.


Marriage and Family

Jane de Morteyn married Sir John Chamberlaine, b. c 1293, d. a 1324, son of Sir Robert Chamberlayne and the daughter of someone by the name of .......Griffith.

They had three (surviving) children, their son and heir:

  1. Sir Richard Chaumbirlayn b. bef. 1315, d. 1391[1]
  2. John Chamberlain, (fl.1374) m. Katherine Tolthorpe, (daughter of John Tolthorpe)[2][3][4] who was the ancestor of Sir William Chamberlayne KG
  3. Thomas Chaumbirlayn[5]


Death

Jane died before 1324.
