Joseph married Margaret Hatley. By 1850, they were living in Stanly County, North Carolina with 12 children at home.[1] They were still there in 1870 with two children at home[2], and in 1880.[3]
Joseph passed away in North Carolina in 1889. Burial was in the Wiggins Family Cemetery in Stanly County, North Carolina.[4]
