John Morton of Chickahominy Swamp, Henrico County, Virginia, was born in 1654 in Kent, England. He was christened on 18 Feb 1655 in Durham, England.
Widow Joane Wade married John Morton in 1682. John Morton’s widow in 1722 was DEBORAH. Joanne was married to John Wade (Anes in another place) prior to her marriage to John Morton
His will was probated on 2 May 1722 in Richmond, Virginia.

"In 1694, one, John Morton is found living in Northumberland Co., Virginia and in that year bought 157 acres of land in Richmond County from James Orchard. Presumably he then moved to Richmond County and 27 years later made his will mentioning his sons by name. John and William were cut off with 4 shillings each. One year later he died, his will being proved May 2, 1722." Richmond County, VA: Will Book No. 3[3]
Morton, John. 27 July, 1721 - 2 May, 1722. Sons Richard, James, Thomas; wife Deborah, to have plantation and after her death to Mary and Winifred Morton; son William, son John.
From RootsWeb: "It is said John Morton and William Randolph came to Virginia about 1675 on the same ship and probably the about the same age, twenty-two. William Randolph lived in Moreton Morrell Warwickshire west midlands of England.
Henrico County Records shows "that John Morton had imported himself and wife from England and was entitled to land grant." Based on this assumption, John was married twice(Deborah Sydenham for first wife is debated?) There is five years difference between second son Winfred 1678 and third son Josiah Morton 1683.
Virginia records shows John Morton married a widow Joane Wade in 1682. John and Joane Morton settled along the Chickahominy River north of the James River in Henrico County, Virginia. Henrico was establish in 1611 and its borders reached along the James River from its junction with Appomattox Ridge to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
In 1720 John Randolph of York County, Virginia, transferred land to Thomas, Joseph and John Morton, sons of John and Joanne Morton, along the Chickahominy swamp.
Henrico County Records show John Morton married Joanne Wade, a widow, in 1682.
John was a son of Thomas Morton born before 1650, probably at or near Canterbury, County Kent, England.[4] He was a son of Thomas Morton.[4]
According to the article by James Walter Allen in the William and Mary College Quarterly Historical Magazine, John had at least three sons, proved by deed records.
In 1721 there was an indenture on record between "John Morton, son and heir of John Morton" and John Ferris for the Morton's Spring Branch on Chickahominy Swamp.
John was a planter of tobacco, the cash crop in Virginia at the time, and other crops. He purchased land.
In 1694, one, John Morton is found living in Northumberland county, Virginia, and in that year bought 157 acres of land in Richmond county from James Orchard. Presumably he then moved to Richmond county, and twenty-seven years later there is found in Richmond county, Sittenbourne Parish, one John Morton, presumably the same John, making his will and mentioning sons: 11, John; is, William; 13, Thomas; M.James; 15, Richard; wife Deborah, Mary and Winifred Morton, relationship not stated. One year later he died, his will being proved May a, 1722.[5]
John died on 22 May 1722 in Richmond, Virginia. His will was probated on 2 May 1722 in Richmond, Virginia.

The son Thomas attached and one of the Josephs are his brothers. [Actually, both Josephs are his brother. They will be merged once the wives issue is resolved.]

I think you meant the following profile Morton-10107. You state in the bio that this John is the son of John and Joanne Morton. So, you are saying that this is the correct son of John and Joanne and not the current John that is attached ? The difference being that one was born in Henrico and the other in Richmond.? So, we need sources that prove which was the son of John and Joan. Could it be that the birthplace and death place are wrong on one of the profiles ?

P.S. My apologies for the typo error in John Jr.’s Wiki number!
1. John and Joanne Morton of Henrico Co. had a son Joseph, however John of Richmond Co. with wife Deborah didn’t.
2. In 1700 Joanne’s John was living in Henrico Co. on his land in Chickahominy Swamp when he transferred land, whereas Deborah’s John in 1694 was living in Northumberland Co. ready to move to neighboring Richmond Co on the Rappahannock River.

don't know about the kent/shropshire disconnect on birth location, but the March/May difference in death date might be old/new calendar (pre-1752, March began the year, so 3rd month would be May, not March).
