Biography

David Morton was born March 19, 1715/16 at Plymouth, MA. He is the son of John Morton and Reliance Phinney. He was married May 8, 1738[1] at Plymouth, MA to Rebecca Finney (daughter of Robert Finney and Ann Morton), and they had children including David, Mordecai, and Zacheus.[2]


David Morton was born on 19 March 1716 in Plymouth, the son of John and Reliance (Phinney) Morton.[3]

He married Rebecca Finney on 8 May 1739 at Plymouth, daughter of Robert and Ann (Morton) Finney. She was baptized at Plymouth on 27 September 1721 and was living in 1746. On 14 January 1744/5, David Morton of Plymouth, seafaring man, sold his part of the land of his father John Morton, deceased, which was divided in 1739, with Rebecca also signing. On 27 February 1746/7, David sold land in Plymouth, one-third of what was his father John Morton's as given to David by his brother James, deceased. No known children,[4]
