So Louisa Virginia Morton had a brother named Marmaduke Beckwith Morton who died in 1845. Then she married her first cousin, Marmaduke Beckwith Morton who was born in 1840, and also had a sister named Virginia. There must be an interesting story behind that unusual name.

to WikiTree "Morton Data" by Daniel Morton 1920 St. Joseph Missouri tells the story. It's all over archive.org and you can download it in various formats. Mortons and Nortons and Beckwiths and Logan County Kentucky intermarriages are a glory to behold.They named each other after each other in the same and in succeeding generations. Marmaduke Beckwith Morton had a book "Kentuckians are Different" published when he was running a Nashville newspaper. Tremendous stories. My mother knew some of the details but the best reference is "Morton Data" - a tremendous hand-drawn tree in that book back to Scotland. No Reply
