Ida was born in 1880 to Rice W. Morton and Mary J. Throcmorton. [1]
J B Legg and Ida Morton married on 09 Apr 1902 in Clay County, West Virginia.[2]She passed away about 1967.[3]
Country Court House records have her listed as Ider Mae Morton. It was dificult finding her and the rest of the information is all Family stories and every day life. She lived next door to our family as we grew up.

Ida Mae Morton was my paternal GMother. She lived next door to me most of my life. She was married to my Grandfather Jarrett Bruce Legg. They had nine children. Leticia Legg Price, Mollie Legg, Marjorie Sarah Legg Shaffer, Eva Scott Legg Allen Jarrett Woodrow Legg Vera LeggCrisp, Claude Bruce Legg, Vada Legg Shepherd and Robert Jamison Legg. My Grandmother told me that her father Rice w.t. Morton married Mary Jane Throckmorton his first cousin so she was then Mary Jane Morton. Rice Morton was a traveling Methodist Mi mister riding horseback through the hills of W.Va. to preach at different churches around the state.
Ida Mae Morton was my Paternal GM. Her father was Rice W.T. Morton or Throckmorton. He shortened his name to Tmorton or T. Morton. I know very little about her extended family. She had at least one sister "Hester"Morton married name Elliot. Father's name Rev Thomas Morton.
