Biography

Hannah was a Friend (Quaker)

The above Hannah Mosher Allen was not the daughter of William and Hannah Mosher, who was born 21d 10m 1762 [21 Oct 1762].[1] She died 10d 2d 1834 [10 Feb 1834], aged about 71 years.[1] She was interred at Newtown.[1]

According to the Dartmouth monthly meeting register of Births, Marriages and Deaths, Hannah was unmarried (last name Mosher).[1] The spouse listed in this profile is unlikely. It's probable that Adam Allen Jr. married a different contemporary Hannah Mosher. A likely local candidate for Adam's spouse is Hannah Mosher, daughter of John and Virtue Mosher. She was born 20 Feb 1769 in Westport, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay.[citation needed] My Hannah Allen could not be the daughter of John and Virtue Allen either as she would be only 10 years old at the time (1779) that she married Adam Allen.

Mosher-3683 and Mosher-1099 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse, dates.

My Hannah (Mosher) Allen was married to Adam Allen, Jr in 1779 so her birth has to be between 1758-1760. After several attempts at finding her Mosher parents I am afraid I am at a dead end. John & Virtue Mosher can not be correct as their daughter, Hannah would be only 10 years old at the time my Hannah married my Adam Allen. Next guess anybody!

Hannah (Mosher) Allen died sometime before Adam married his second wife, Anstrus (Davis) Anthony on 23rd, 11 mo. 1808. Isabell Palmer changed her date of death to 1834 which can't be correct unless Adam was a bigamist which I don't believe.
