He was born in Granville County, North Carolina to his parents Gilbert Moss Sr and Martha Ann Jordan, their 6th child and 5th son. He was born in the American Colonies under King George III and passed away at 71/72 during the Presidency of John Tyler the 10th POTUS. He is the father of Gabriel Moss Sr
