DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:
In 1790 census York Co., SC see Joseph, Ephraim and Rubian MoJs...(that's how "ss" was written then). Nearby is older Wm Sandland who also came from Granville Co., NC...and some of his sons-in-laws. He is maybe the father or perhaps a brother of Ellender "Nelly" Sandlin. (Can't be sure of Wm's birthdate.)
