Asher was born in 1739. He is the son of William Mott and Margaret Hartshorn.

1774, January 26 [Will written]. Mott, Gersbom, of Brandywine Hundred, New Castle Co., Del., miller; will of: Wife, Ann Mott, £300. To the child yet unborn, the rest of real and personal estate; but, if the child die under 21, then I give the same to my brothers, John and Asher Mott, and my sister, Sarah Mott, and my said wife, Ann, 1/4, part to each.

Executors — my wife, and said brothers.

Witnesses — Mary Godley, Joseph Shipley, John McKinly.
