Research Notes

This is earlier research (2009) done by Glen Swartz: "George was not married to Elizabeth Stahr, or Eve Fike. 1804 Jun 6, George Moyer and his wife Fanny, sold 206 acres in Elk Lick Township (Somerset Co, PA, Deeds, vol.3, p346). Say Fanny was born about 1752 (before 1755, based on 1800 census), if so then married about age 18, and her last child at age 38. She is probably the female over age 45 in the 1810 census in the dwelling of George Moyer, and not found in the 1820 census. Since she is not mentioned in her husband's will in 1821 she was probably deceased by that time, so between, 1810-1820. Fanny is a nickname for Veronica." - Glen Swartz 03 Jan 2009

However, Randy Brooks found the marriage record for Elizabeth Stahr (1770-1836), daughter of Phillip marrying George Moyer in the Lancaster, PA Mennonite records. Approved changes with Beth Golden base on new source info above Lancaster, Pennsylvania, U.S., Mennonite Vital Records George Moyer and Elizabeth Stahr did have a soon name George 1864 and he married Veronica "Fanny" Thomas which did support earlier research notes that mentioned Fanny the wife however she was married to the son.

Modified Birth date and place to conform with the marriage of his parents in Tulpehocken, Pa on 22 Dec 1746. George was most likely born in 1747. DAR records show him as born about 1750. The birthplace of Wharton Township was not credible because this area wasn't settled yet. Geo Washington didn't'survey the area and build Ft Necessity until 1754. (Dale Ohda, Apr 19, 2022)
