Biography

DESCENDANTS OF JOHN MEYER SON OF REV PETER MEYER
II John Meyer, born in Springfield township, Bucks Co., Pa., Nov. 2, 1757 ; died Aug. 28, 1833 ; married Elizabeth Detweiler. After marriage they removed to the old Detweiler homestead in Montgomery county. The old homestead was a large log cabin that was built before the Revolutionary war. It was used as a meetinghouse before the Franconia meetinghouse was built. He owned 300 acres of land, which he divided into three farms for his sons --- Jacob, John and Jonas. Farmer ; Menns. Children : Jacob, Elizabeth, John, William, Jonas, Mary, Susan, Peter. [1]

Johannes Moyer married Elizabeth Detweiler in 1779[2] and died in 1833.[3]

Moyer-1877 and Meyer-938 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates. Last name at birth possibly more likely to have followed Swiss/German spelling convention of Meyer and then changed to Moyer later on.
