Biography

Translation of Baptismal Certificate (written in German): "Unto Mr. Friedrich Robert Mueller in the Town of Union City, born in Dresden, Kingdom of Saxony, was born by his wife Helene, nee Peter, from Niefernheim, Kingdom of Bavaria, on the 18th of February, 1871, in Weehawken, Hudson County, N.J. a baby son, who on the 15th of August 1874 received Holy Baptism and the name: Friedrich Anton. Baptismal witnesses were: Anton Kaspan, which is certified by the signature of his name. (Signed) J. Justin, Pastor, Town of Union, N.J. on the 28th of March 1874."^[1]

In 1880 his family lived in Union City, in Hudson County, New Jersey, where his father was a florist.^[2]

Friedrich married Anna Margaretha Augusta Ackerman on 9 October 1892, also in Union City.^[3] By 1900 they had three children: Helen-7, Frederick-3, and Robert-1.^[4] Friedrich was then a Union City policeman.

Their daughter Gertrude was also born in Union City. By 1903 they had moved to North Bergen, then later to West New York, also in Hudson County, New Jersey, where the 1910 Federal Census shows them living with all eight of their surviving children (one male child was stillborn): Helen-16, Frederick, Jr.-13, Robert-11, Gertrude-9, Adam-6, Etta (Henrietta)-4, Elsie-3, and Jacob-1 year, 6 mos.^[5] Friedrich was working as a shipping clerk.

Friedrich Anton Mueller died of pneumonia on 19 January 1917, at the age of 45, in West New York, Hudson County, New Jersey.^[6] He is buried at Grove Church Cemetery.
