Biography
Gavin was born in 1858. He was the son of Gavin Muirhead and Catherine McPhail. When he wasn't helping on the farm, he attended Public School in Collingwood, Ont. He attended a Police Academy in Toronto, and later was employed by the city of Toronto as a Policeman. He married Margaret Jane Sproule and they had four living children, all born in Toronto. They first resided at 265 Markham Ave., and later to 555 Markham Ave.
