Biography

Christened: 30 Jun 1872. Dutch Reformed Church, Oudtshoorn.

NOTE: In her husband's estate papers, there is an affidavit declaring that her first name is Alice and not Elsie as incorrectly stated in her christening records.

Married: 3 Jun 1895. In a school room at Sundays River in the parish of St Catherines, Uitenhage after banns by the Rector, CB Jecks. Register: Benjamin Martinus Jewaskiewitz, bachelor, farmer, to Alice Johanna Muller, spinster, both of full age and both of Sundays River. Witnesses: B Blenkinsop, JJ Muller.

Died: 27 Feb 1949. She died at home, Stones Hill, Grahamstown. Death registration form: Alice Johanna Jewaskiewitz born Muller, 76 years, widow, old age pensioner. Cause of death: Myocardial degeneration (many years), Hypertension (18 years), generalized ascites (10 years).

Buried: 28 Feb 1949. New Cemetery, Grahamstown.
