Theodor Diedrich Friedrich Bernhard was born on 22 Aug 1847 in Dedesdorf to Auctionator or Actuar Reinhard Friedrich Müller (1813-1874) and wife Anna Margarethe Wilhelmine (Brüggemann) Müller (1814-1905). He was baptized on 14 Oct in Dedesdorf, his godparents were: 1. Organist Diedrich Kreye, 2. Kirchspielsvorst[eher] Joann Friedrich Fixsen, 3. Becke Hundewadt

In 1875 he worked as Bahnhofsassistent in Hude and married Sophie Margarethe Kimme from Waddens in Dedesdorf.
