Biography

Peter Mullins was born about 1807 in Kentucky. He is the son of Solomon Mullins and Sara Greenfield Cathey. He died Sep 16 1889 in Logan, West Virginia.

1850 Census Logan VA- Peter Mullins is 46 and his wife Jane is 38. The children listed are Mahulda age 18 born 1832 KY, Wellington age 14 born 1836 KY, Almeda age 12 born 1838 KY, Van B age 9 born 1841 KY, Andrew J age 7 born 1843 KY, Oliver age 5 born 1845 VA, John age 3 born 1847 VA, and Sarah age 1 born 1849 VA.[1]

1860 Census Logan, VA - Peter Mullins was 54 and his wife Jane was 49. The children listed are Weddington (probably Wellington) age 24 born in KY, Van B age 21 born in KY, Andrew J age 18 born in KY, John age 14 born in VA, James B age 8 born in VA, Solomon age 2 born in VA. NOTE: Sarah who was 21 in the 1870 census would have been 11 in the 1860 census but she is not listed. [2]

1870 Census Chapmanville, Logan WV - Peter Mullins was 63 and born in Kentucky. His wife Jane was 60 and was born in NC. There were 4 children living with them at that time: John age 22 born in VA, Sarah age 21 born in VA, James B age 19 born in VA, and Solomon age 12 born in VA.[3]

1874 Jan 14 Marriage of Peter Mullins and Elizabeth Bryant in West Virginia. He was 63 and born about 1811. She was 36 and born about 1838. [4]

1876 Sep 6 Marriage of Weddington Mullins Sr and Sarah Nelson. He was widowed and 35 years old. She was single and 22 years of age. Her parents: Fanner Nelson and Matilda. His parents: Peter Mullins and Jane cox. [5]

1878 Marriage of Solomon Mullins and Mary Ann Bryant. Solomon was a farmer, 19 and single. Born about 1859 in Logan, WV. His father: P Mullins. His mother: ?. Mary Ann was 18 and single. Born about 1860 in Logan, WV. Her father: T Bryant. Her mother: Olive Doss. [6]
