Biography

Carsella Adeline "Cassie" (Mullis) Marlowe was born on Apr 9, 1832 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Carsella Mullis ... She died on Mar 26,1906 in Placerville, San Miguel County, Colorado.[1]

Carsella and husband, Albert Marlow, were dwelling next door to her father and mother,

Ambrose and Mary Mullies in Augusta, Ks. Butler Co. census 1870. In 1900 Linn Co., Carsella Marlow, widow, was living in Pleasanton, KS Linn Co. census. Next door to her was Jane Mullies, daughter of James Bartlett Mullis (b. 1833) who came west with his Wilkes Co. family in 1881 to join his brother Jesse Mullies (b. 1814) who had settled in Bates Co., on the Missouri side of the state line. It is evident the Wilkes/Iredell Mullis family remained in close contact with family through the decades, from N. C. to Missouri and Kansas.

Sources: Butler Co. Ks. census of 1870, Linn Co. census of 1900, and "Biography of James Bartlett Mullis" written by his namesake grandson in 1977.
