Biography

Jonathan Munson's birth is recorded in the Machias, Maine, vital records,15 May 1796, [1] [2] though the 1850 Census of Wesley reports his birth in New Brunswick, [3] the son of John Munson and Sarah Niles. [4] He died at Wesley, Maine, 24 Dec 1885, and is buried in the Wildwood Cemetery. [5] [6]

He married (1) at Cooper Maine, 8 Dec 1822, Mary Pineo. [7] She died at Wesley, 8 Dec 1829, ae 29y, and is buried there in the Wildwood Cemetery, also known as the Guptill Cemetery, [8] [9] and he subsequently married (2), Margaret Tinker. [10]
