Hello Deborah -- My name is Rick Hummell and I am the former editor of the Stoughton Courier Hub, the newspaper in Stoughton, Wisconsin. I don't know if you are aware, but William Parry Murphy, whom I'm sure you know was born in Stoughton, has been selected by a city committee to be the 2018 entrant into the Stoughton Hall of Fame.
It is an annual award presented to or in honor of an individual from Stoughton who has made a lasting contribution to society.
I have recently completed the text for a plaque recognizing Dr. Murphy which will be on display in the Hall of Fame Room at Stoughton City Hall.
I am writing to inquire if you might have a photo of Dr. Murphy that could accompany the write-up. It should be a fairly large jpeg so it can be blown up.[1]
