Thousands of cases of burglary and robbery have been heard in Silver Bow County courts, but the most unique came yesterday when grand-larceny complaint was filed against William F. Sullivan of Butte..
The complaint alleges that Sullivan stole a four room frame house.
The dwelling, claimed the property of Anita Walsh of Seattle, was put on wheels at its site on South Side and removed to its present location at 2711Colusa street, the complaint alleges.
A few weeks ago Sullivan sold the dwelling to Isabelle Lloyd for $200, although the property did not belong to him, the complaint recites.
When Sullivan refused to repair plaster which was broken in moving, Mrs. Lloyd complained to the county attorney’s office, it is alleged. Investigation revealed, according to Deputy County Attorney Henry C. Levinsky, that Sullivan had removed the house without the owner’s permission.
The complaint was signed by Stephen J. Murphy, agent for Mrs. Walsh."[7]
