Roy Evert
In 1830 in County Carlow, Ireland, Luke Murphy and Judy Norris married. They had 3 sons. Then in 1840 they had a daughter Anastasia. In 1845 the potato blight became a problem and many Irish poor were starving. It was not for a lack of food, for there was plenty. There were cattle and sheep and deer and fish and plenty of other things to eat. But the food supply was controlled by the English landlords. In September 1856, shortly before her 16th birthday, Anastasia Murphy arrived in the United States aboard the sailing ship Rocklight. She eventually made her way to Brown County, Wisconsin.
