James Murphy (the senior James Murphy) was born about 1833 at Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. He migrated to Australia about 1840.
Married Anne Curtis 1876 at Victoria. They moved to Tongala (Northern Victoria). 5x children. They settled down to a farming life.
He passed away 1909 aged 71 years (est. DOB 1833). He is interred at Ganmain Cemetery, New South Wales with wife Anne Margaret (Curtis) Murphy (her Parents; Michael Curtis & Sarah (Molloy) Curtis) & son James (Jnr). Interred nearby are sons Michael & John.
