Biography

... 1880 Census of OHIO also lists Emmett,(6 months at the time) as, Andrew E. , the youngest of 3 sons of Bernard J. and Mary A. (Murphy). from the county of Seneca, Ohio. The couple also had a daughter. (Loretta 12, Samuel 10, John W. 5 and Andrew "E" 6 months) Emmett may have chosen to go by his middle name rather than by "Andrew after leaving home?

Bernard and Mary are also mentioned as Emmett's parents in the marriage registration for Martha and Emmett's wedding at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Greeley Centre, Greeley NE in 1902.

Emmett was listed as being 50 years old at the time of the 1930 Census of Nebraska. In 1930, he and Martha had obviously been marrried for 28 years already , as the census also includes each of their ages at the time of their marriage, i.e. 22 for Emmett and 18 for Martha.

Catholic Baptism Records for the names of Emmett Andrew (Andreas) and his three other siblings are noted in Latin; as is/was the customary usage at the time. Birth date and baptism dates and both parents names included.
