Biography

Andrew Murphy married the granddaughter of Lord Tennyson (poet) (I/Sheila cannot find a granddaughter for Lord Tennyson). They had 3 children.

Andrew Murphy was a Colonel in the Indian Army.

Notes from letter from Sr. Margaret Mary, Convent of Mercy Doon to Una Murphy, Ardcoohig. 'Dr. Andrew joined the Indian Service, retired as Lieut. Colonel. Andrew married a granddaughter of Lord Tennyson (poet). They had two sons and one daughter (the daughter visited Ardcoohig). The elder boy was killed in World War Two, and Andrew was heart broken. He died in an apartment in Knightsbridge, London.
